Our team on the ground in
Liberia went to various
villages to distribute relief supplies. Some of the situations they
encountered were pitiful. They described the reality of children’s
parents dying of Ebola and the children being avoided for fear of
being contagious. Please pray for the epidemic and for all of the
other devastating consequences related to fear, quarantine, and the
stalling of the economy. We have currently received gifts of almost
$10,000 for relief.
Bill and Kathy Brittain had the opportunity to sit
down and speak with their mayor, Karen Freeman-Wilson of Gary,
Indiana. She was very kind and receptive to how we might be able to
better help the children in the city. Gary has seen its share of
This week we had calls to place 8 children in
Safe Family volunteer homes.
Pray with us as we need more families to volunteer to host children
whose families are in crisis. We can support families in
Northern Indiana. Last Friday we handed out candy at a local
Fall Festival and expected to reach 3,000 people with the news about
how Safe Families could possibly help them. For more
