Maternity & Paternity

The maternity/paternity program provides counseling for those facing an unplanned pregnancy. The counseling can be done in our home office or a counselor can come to the community or home of a client.

We provide counseling to look at the options of parenting and adoption. We help couples answer questions about assessing the needs of their expected child, finances, parental readiness, and emotional stability.

If a client chooses to parent the child, we can help her connect with community resources that will support her in that decision.

If a couple chooses adoption for the child, we help plan an adoption that will satisfy the parents' needs and those of the child. This includes choosing and meeting an adoptive couple, preparing the birth parents and their families for the adoption placement and deciding upon the level of contact after placement. There is an emphasis on grief counseling.

We can also help the birth mother with referrals for housing and financial and medical aid.
